Mull for food lovers
Posted September 24, 2018The Isle of Mull is renowned for its spectacular scenary and abundant wildlife, but food is a subject less often talked about. Well, we can assure you that whether you be a wildlife lover or food lover (or both!), you will be equally happy.
Dotted around the island are many high quality restaurants, cafes and artisan food producers. There are far too many for us to recommend here, but visit Mull & Iona Food
We don’t feature any of the big high street chains, we just do local food, treated with love and cooked to perfection, leaving you with happy memories and a satisfied feeling.
And of course, if you’re staying with us at any of The White House of Aros self-catering properties, our very well appointed kitchens make for a wonderful base to create your own culinary dishes. With local produce the like of which you’d never find in a supermarket. In season right now is Isle of Mull free-roaming hogget (pictured). Hogget is a sheep older than a lamb but younger than a fully-grown adult and in our opinion the most delicious meat available anywhere.
So, whether it be a night out in a wonderful locally caught seafood restaurant or a night in with a slow cooked leg of island hogget and a glass of good wine, Mull offers something for every food lover.
