Spoilt for Choice
Posted February 1, 2016The Scottish Highlands is bursting with wonderful produce from the sea and hills. It attracts great cooks who can do such wonders with its richness, and the pleasures of freshly caught dived scallops, oysters, langoustines, crab, lobsters, venison from the hill or Mull born and bred beef and lamb can’t be missed on a trip here.
Mull thus has a fabulous array of eateries including the well know Cafe Fish in Tobermory, which has its own fishing boat ‘The Highlander’ – to Ballygown, a cottage come home dining room with just four tables and fabulous home cooked fayre overlooking Ulva. There is ‘The Boathouse’ on Ulva, Ninth Wave on the Ross of Mull and ‘The Argyll Hotel’ on Iona and still more…
One of our favourite adventures is to take the ferry as foot passengers on the short journey from Fishnish to Lochaline and enjoy the absolute top class cuisine at The Whitehouse Restaurant. The vegetables are grown outback and all produce sourced locally. here are some of the delights we have enjoyed, booking for some of the above is essential.
